Share love through food! These puff pastry hearts are perfect for Valentine's Day, an anniversary, or any occasion where you want to show someone special how much you care. They're simple to make and sure to impress.
Ingredients:
- 1 box frozen puff pastry, thawed at room temp for no more than 40 mins (so it's still cool)
- 1 tbsp Harris & Ruddock Almond Milk, or any plant-based milk
- 1 jar Harris & Ruddock Chocolate Dessert Spread
- 1 cup strawberries, sliced
- Mint for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 425°.
- Dust flour on surface and roll out thawed puff pastry to 1/4 inch thickness.
- Cut out heart shapes with cookie cutter or freehand with a knife. (We used a 4" cookie cutter.)
- Mark a border slightly inside each heart shape without cutting all the way through the pastry. You can do this with a smaller cookie cutter (we used a 3.25") or again with a knife. This will help the edges puff up nicely.
- Brush the edges with plant-based milk.
- Place the heart pastries on a lined baking sheet and bake in oven for 15-20 mins, or until golden and puffed.
- Allow to cool slightly. Then, spread a generous amount of H&R Chocolate Dessert Spread in the center of each heart using a spoon or spatula.
- Arrange sliced strawberries on top of chocolate spread. For an extra touch, garnish with a mint leaf.
Total time: 30 mins
Serves: 8 (but depends on the size of your cookie cutter)
